What is the Augusta Rule?
The Augusta Rule allows homeowners to rent either their primary residence or a vacation home for up to 14 days each year without including income from the rental in the owner’s taxable income. Suppose the homeowner rents the property to their own business. In that case, the company can also deduct the expenses, resulting in a deduction of income on the business side and non-taxable income on the individual side.
