This is an extension to FILE, not an extension to PAY - payment is still due April 18, 2023.

You must file in California by March 15, 2023.

Extension to File S Corporation & Partnership Taxes in California for 2022

You must send payment for taxes in California for the fiscal year 2022 by March 15, 2023.

The Extension Deadline is September 15, 2023 to file your California S-Corporation income tax return.

The Extension Deadline is October 16, 2023 to file your California partnership income tax return.

California automatically grants a 6 month  extension on filing S-Corporation income tax returns and automatically grants a 7 month extension on filing Partnership income tax returns. This means you do not need to file for an extension in California.

This is an extension to FILE, not an extension to PAY - payment is still due March, 15 2023.

Estates Tax Deadline for California 2022

California Estate Tax filings are due April 18, 2023.

Farmer and Fisherman Taxes for California 2022

If you are a farmer or fisherman, and at least two-thirds of your 2021 and 2022 gross income is from farming or fishing, you may do either of the following:

  • Pay all of your estimated tax by January 17, 2023.
  • File your tax return for 2022 on or before March 1, 2023, and pay the total tax due. In this case, you need not make estimated tax payments for 2022.
